We organize seminars related to chromatographic separation and technologies.

We offer chromatography courses for our customers involved in the synthesis and/or purification of APIs and fine chemicals.  For customers working with biopharmaceuticals, we have added a new program for biochromatography training.

The success of a chromatographic process depends on the proper optimization of the process conditions and a reliable and stable operation of the equipment.

The proper optimization of the operating conditions can be complex for several reasons:

  • Some of the parameters involved are not considered with sufficient attention in the optimization strategy. The pore size and the eluent / buffer viscosity are two examples among many.
  • Optimized preparative chromatography often means working under non-linear conditions. The mathematics involved to describe the underlying phenomena are not simple.
  • Since the bottom line is often the cost of the process, economic factors should be considered. As it is well-known, the best process in terms of chromatographic science is not necessarily the cheapest one.

The proper operation of a piece of equipment is related to the quality of construction.  This does not, however, eliminate the fact that these units must be properly maintained and that problems may arise. Solving these problems requires appropriate knowledge of the chromatographic process and of the equipment itself so that the cause of a problem can be quickly found.  Our chromatography training seminar will address these issues to bring to light real-life solutions.

NB : Each course is organized in subtopics as detailed above.  These cannot be split and attended separately.

Training sessions are generally organized both in France and in the USA.  The audience is limited to 20 participants so that the course can be interactive and ensure fruitful discussions. The language used is English.

This course is intermediate level, destined for anyone looking to learn how to scale up chromatography processes and/or interested in the optimization of preparative chromatography processes.

It provides attendees with a good understanding of factors controlling separations in preparative mode, technology of chromatography at large scale and critical issues related to packing materials. Additionally, attendees get a good working knowledge of continuous chromatography and SFC processes including optimization and applications.
This course is also a good opportunity for participants to meet representatives from other companies.

Personalized courses can also be organized, either at Novasep Process facilities or at the customer’s site. The number of participants is not limited in this case and the topics covered can be tuned to your particular requirements.

Practical workshops can also be organized on special topics such as, column packing.
