We maintain an inventory of standard parts to ensure quick delivery. We select the best cost/performance spare parts through an in-house laboratory evaluation in accordance with international industry standards which are applicable to the industrial biotech industry.

Expertise and consumable optimization to improve performance

We design, build, operate and service a wide range of equipment worldwide for our customers’ process lines. A maintenance contract is a very cost-effective means to ensure a timely delivery of products. The main consumables are:

• Resins:
  Applexion® XA resins have been subject to laboratory and pilot plant evaluation; they have been selected from reputed manufacturers, and are tailored to meet Novasep’s strict specifications. An exact understanding of their industrial performance allows us to offer the most adapted grade for each application to provide peak performance!
• Membranes:
  Novasep has developed Kerasep®, the most comprehensive range of high performance ceramic membranes for micro and ultrafiltration. We also recommend select organic membranes from other suppliers when applicable.
• Chemicals:
  In order to achieve smooth operations and a long product lifetime, regular cleanings are sometimes necessary with specific chemicals. Our technical team determines the best operating conditions and products.
  The A.S.A.P. team, in collaboration with our analytical laboratories, carries out a detailed resin and membrane analysis. The regular monitoring of the resin and membrane properties (optical aspect, capacity, fouling index, electronic microscopy, etc.) is key in anticipating any discrepancies with the process parameters. The resulting recommendations allow any corrective action to be taken as well as any upgrade or replacement to be budgeted. When ion exchange resins or membranes start to wear, the result is shorter production runs and excessive regenerant and water consumption; thus increased operating costs. Monitoring their aging pattern allows an optimum replacement program to be implemented.

Service contract for increased reliability

We provide service contracts to optimize the productivity and lifetime of your process line:

• Preventive maintenance:
  Our teams plan and perform periodic preventive maintenance to replace parts subject to wear and tear. Our service contracts are flexible and may include: operating process modifications; equipment upgrades; possible modifications of base engineering; a well planned supply of ion exchange resins, carbon and/or membranes; as well as a chemicals savings and gain sharing program.
• Corrective maintenance:
  Our qualified personnel performs troubleshooting at your site to maximize system utilization. A detailed report is issued listing all possible corrective actions with their expected cost and performance expectation. Maximum response time can be included in our contracts.
• Periodic testing:
  Our team performs periodic testing and conclusions are provided in a detailed and comprehensive report.
