Ethyl diazoacetate/diazomethane

Ethyl diazoacetate (EDA) and gaseous diazomethane (DAM) can be produced and handled under safe conditions.
These two reagents are very useful tools to produce cyclopropanes, β-ketoesters and - via ring-expansion – cycloheptatrienes.
