"When is preparative chromatography useful in chiral syntheses?"
The objective of this workshop is to share the experiences of preparative chromatography specialists including stationary phase suppliers, process designers and equipment manufacturers, users, CMOs and pharmaceutical manufacturing specialists. During the workshop, the benefits and the limitations of the technology will be discussed and demonstrated.
Preparative chromatography specialists will present their approach to obtain a pure enantiomer. CMO and pharmaceutical manufacturing specialists will confront their experiences in integrating preparative chromatography at different steps in the synthesis of chiral APIs.
There will be 4 presentations of approximately 20 minutes.

Evaluation of the economical and regulatory impact of sequential multi-column chromatography (SMCC) in downstream processing

Technology principles and process know-how have been successfully extrapolated from petrol, food and small molecule industries to create powerful new tools for the downstream processing of biopharmaceuticals. One example is SMCC, a semi-continuous purification technology, which can significantly increase purification productivity, reduce drastically buffer consumption and cost of goods, and offer more streamlined biopharmaceuticals-manufacturing processes. A case study for mAbs will be presented.
