Crystallization

For APIs and intermediates, crystallization is a complementary technique to chromatography to:

  • enhance enantiomeric excess
  • increase the ruggedness and throughput of process
  • improve chemical purity of the target enantiomer
    Also, mastering the polymorph of the API is mandatory
a. Development
- determination of physical and chemical parameters of chiral compounds(phase diagrams)
- resolution of chiral compounds (diastereomeric salt formation, preferential crystallization)
b. Scale-up and Custom Purification
-Optimized chiral separation processes are scaled-up every day at our pilot and commercial scale plants.
 

Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC)
 
Novasep Supersep™ SFC systems are especially designed to offer quick g to kg scale separations, covering the needs of medicinal chemists and chemical development teams.



 
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

In combination with Prochrom® Dynamic Axial Compression (DAC) columns, the Hipersep® line is the answer to the most demanding preparative HPLC applications.
 
CYCLOJET®, a powerful semicontinuous process, is now available with our Hipersep® systems.

 
Continuous Technology (SMB and Varicol® )

 
Our systems for continuous chromatography are used today for the production of a number of APIs. Varicol® units incorporating Dynamic Axial Compression(DAC) columns with an internal diameter of up to 1 m are installed in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and are approved by the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
