Novasep’s Applexion™ continuous ion exchange technology enables customers to optimize amino-acid recovery (up to 99%), and quality before drying. Compared to a traditional batch processing, continuous ion exchange, dramatically decreases process operation costs and increases ROI:
- Amino-acid is more concentrated, reducing the load on the concentration step
- Reduced water and chemicals consumption
- Reduced effluent generation
- Reduction of resin volume
For additional amino-acid refining (e.g. aromatic amino acid) Novasep is able to propose SSMB chromatography technology. SSMB can significantly improve amino-acid recovery by recycling mother liquor following centrifugation (patent pending). It can desalt very efficiently specialty amino acids-containing solutions, like leucine and glycine for example.
